Nature calls in NYC

2 October 06, 2010
Saw a Red Tailed Hawk obliterate an unsuspecting pigeon in Riverside Park this aft, no more than 50 yards from the Henry Hudson Parkway (and a sleeping bum who was oblivious to the whole spectacle). It was pretty impressive. Bam! A cloud of feathers. Then a big hawk with a rust-colored tail sitting atop the pigeon, making sure all was clear for lunch. Then... lunch. Slowly but surely, the hawk ate the warm pigeon flesh. Yum! Nature in action, right here in the city.
