Recipe for Mom's Venison Sliders

2 March 03, 2011
Last week we joined some friends at a cabin deep in the woods for dinner. The only way up there is to ski or take a snowmobile, so of course we all opted for the former. The venison sliders we brought were a MAJOR hit, so we thought we should share the recipe on The Blog Cabin. Here we go: 1 lb or so of choice venison ground 2 whole eggs 2 white onions, chopped fine 1 generous tablespoon of good dijon mustard 3 slices of honey oat bread (remove crusts, soak in water, squeeze out water) Pepper and salt to taste Dash of Lea and Perrins Mix this all up with your hands in a big bowl, then make up little burger patties. Cook medium/medium well. I'm telling you these sliders/burgers are fantastic. Try them. (To be fair, we must credit my mother for this recipe. She calls them "Venison Frikandellen". We call them Mom's Venison Sliders. Take your pick. Thank you Mom!)

Oh, one more thing…. we served them on mini-burger buns with more dijon mustard and a some mango chutney! Yum.
