Summer's short up here in Vermont so we make a point of getting outdoors every day after work and the weekends usually involve some kind of excursion into the mountains on boots or bikes or skis (in winter). This past weekend my brother and I went looking for some abandoned trails on the back-side of Mt. Mansfield. En route we got lucky and spotted a Peregrine Falcon coursing along the ridge we were hiking - seeing these birds out in this habitat is truly awe-inspiring. That of course was the perfect time to pull out the two chilled Bass Ales in my pack... What an epic afternoon. If any of you make it up to Vermont this summer, give us a holler so we can pass along some tips - local places to eat, trails to hit, etc. Come visit!
