Honeycomb Maps

Artist Ren Ri makes crazy honeycomb art with the help of his bees. After a few years of observing his beehives, Ri realized how he could incorporate his clan of friends into his artwork. His process begins by making deep topographical molds of regions from all over the world. He then places the molds into his beehive shelves. The bees go to work, building up the mold into a 3D work of art. Ri views the pieces as a observation of the fragile relationship between man and bee. Although these photos certainly depict the intricacy of the works, we wish we could see one of these in person!
