We're Hiring: UM looking for a cracker-jack Operations Manager

We’re looking for a cracker-jack Operations Manager to join our growing team in Waterbury, VT. The ‘Ops Manager’ will be responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient and reliable operations to support our growing multi-channel business. Main responsibilities include:

  • Drive efficiencies, insights and continuous improvement across the business through smart, robust business operations
  • Support key market-facing parts of the business to help teams work better and smarter (product development, marketing, wholesale, digital, customer service, etc)
  • Oversee all aspects of supply chain including:
    • Supplier management (chief liaison, contracts, quality control, price monitoring, proactive trouble-shooting, etc)
    • Product development support (component sourcing, development timelines, supplier liaison and follow-up)
    • Inventory & component management (purchasing, logistics, stock levels, re-orders, deliveries, costing, waste minimization, efficiencies, etc);
    • Warehousing & order fulfillment for all channels (overseeing 3pl partners)
    • Quality control across the business (products, order fulfillment, customer service, etc)
  • Project management (new product launches, key marketing campaigns, holiday program, etc);  
  • KPI data tracking and management reports
  • Partner oversight/management (IT, regulatory compliance, HR, etc)
  • Risk management and intellectual property
  • TBD (depending on candidate’s background, skills & interests) - take lead on UM sustainability initiatives, more in-depth financial/business analysis & data crunching, take lead on contracts and agreements


  • Reliable, hard-working, self-starter, hands-on, team player, friendly, honest, smart, curious, detail-oriented, analytical, good w/ numbers
  • Desire to master the operational side of a small growing business; passionate about process improvement
  • 3-5+ years of relevant operations experience
  • College degree, proficiency with Excel
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ideally, strong native interest in premium natural products market
