Gently massage a nickel-sized dab into damp skin and rinse. Use 2-3 times a week, or as desired. Avoid eye area.

Q: Is this safe for sensitive skin?
A: Green Slate Mineral Polish is a powerful exfoliating treatment that is designed to smooth skin’s appearance for your other skincare and makeup. That said, 88% of people who tried Green Slate in a consumer test agreed that their skin didn’t feel stripped after use, and 95% agreed their skin felt intact.


Ultimately, you know your skin best. If you’re concerned about how your skin will tolerate Green Slate, we recommend trying it out on your neck or arm before using it on your face and limiting use to once a week. If you experience irritation or redness from any exfoliant, we recommend you discontinue use until that has subsided.


Q:  What skin type is this suitable for?
A: Green Slate Mineral Polish is appropriate for all skin types, especially congested or oily skin. 


Q: Does this product remove makeup?
A: This formula is optimized for exfoliation. We recommend one of our other cleansers (Fantastic Face Wash, Making Moves Milky Cleanser, or our Essential Face Wipes) if your main concern is removing makeup.


Q: Will Green Slate Mineral Polish cause micro-tears?
A: There’s currently no reliable way to evaluate whether a product causes micro-tears on the skin, but it’s true that any exfoliator (physical or chemical) can irritate the skin when used too frequently. We recommend using Green Slate Mineral Polish 1-2 times a week at first and polishing lightly to start. We don’t recommend using the product more than three times a week.


Q: Is this product pregnancy safe?
A: Green Slate Mineral Polish contains a small amount of natural salicylates from the Wintergreen and Willow Bark. Some doctors recommend against those during pregnancy. This is a wash-off product, so risk is lower, but we always recommend checking with your doctor before incorporating a new product.


Q: What is the aroma?
A: An invigorating, tree-topped scent of Fir and Cypress, with herbal notes of Ginger and Lavender.

    Love the exfoliation

    I have other products from Ursa Major and love them! I use the Golden Hour Recovery Cream and the Fantastic Face Wash daily. I love them both! I have a been a customer for a couple of years. I wanted to try something different and ordered the Green Slate Mineral Polish. I wasn't sure at first what to expect. I gently applied it and really liked it! My face feels super clean and has a glow about it after using it. A couple of times a week is all I need to bring my face back a youthful glow. It has a subtle smell which is just lovely.

    I am also happy your products come in glass! Finally a company paying attention to all the unnecessary plastic we do not need.

    Not too rough-just right!

    I love Ursa Major products. I've eaten a very clean diet and exercised regularly for 26 years. But always used a traditional professional level skin care regimen that I know was packed with chemicals. This is the first clean and EFFECTIVE skincare product I've found. Love it!

    Smoother skin ahead

    I’m new to Ursa Major but love everything I’ve tried so far. The green slate mineral polish is perfect for smoothing out my skin, removing dead skin off the top without use of chemicals or anything harsh. I’m using it three times a week. Highly recommend!!
