    FAQs

    Is this safe for sensitive skin?  

    Green Slate Mineral Polish is a powerful exfoliating treatment that also replenishes skin, so it isn’t left feeling dry or depleted. In a clinical study, 96% of participants agreed that their skin felt intact after use.

    That said, you know your skin best! If you’re concerned about your skin’s ability to tolerate Green Slate Mineral Polish, we recommend trying it out on your arm before using it on your face and limiting use to once a week. If you experience any irritation or redness, discontinue use until your skin has had time to recover.

    How and when do I use this product?  

    For best results, gently massage a nickel-sized dab into damp skin, avoiding the eye area, then rinse. Use 1-3 times per week depending on your skin’s sensitivity and needs.

    Does this product remove makeup?  

    Green Slate Mineral Polish was formulated for exfoliation. If your main concern is removing makeup, we recommend using one of our other cleansers: Fantastic Face Wash, Making Moves Milky Cleanser, or our Essential Face Wipes.

    Is this product pregnancy-safe?  

    Green Slate Mineral Polish does contain a small amount of natural salicylic acid (a type of BHA) from both Wintergreen and Willow Bark. While some healthcare providers recommend avoiding salicylic acid during pregnancy, it is included in this formula at a very low amount (less than 0.5%). Also, because this is a wash-off product, any risk is considerably lower.

    That said, we always recommend checking in with your healthcare provider about ingredient lists and any new products during pregnancy.

    Does this contain fragrance?  

    Green Slate Mineral Polish has a fresh, invigorating aroma of Fir, Cypress, Ginger and Lavender—derived entirely from real plant extracts, no synthetic fragrances.

    Will this cause micro-tears?  

    There’s currently no reliable method to evaluate whether a product causes micro-tears on the skin, but it’s true that any exfoliator (physical or chemical) can irritate skin if used too frequently. We recommend using Green Slate Mineral Polish no more than 3x a week (1-2x a week when first starting) and always massaging gently into damp skin.

    What if I don’t love it?  

    We totally understand that skincare is not one-size-fits-all and that everyone’s skin is unique. If you are not satisfied with your Ursa Major products, you may return your product for a full refund or store credit within 30 days of receiving your order.

    Do you offer free shipping?  

    We happily offer free standard shipping via DHL/USPS for all domestic orders $40+ placed on our website. Orders below $40 will ship via DHL/USPS for a flat $7 fee.
